Okimono – Patinated bronze, Rosewood – Cacciatore Ainu in posa con arco teso verso la preda – Japan – Meiji period (1868-1912)
Rare bronze okimono with double patina depicting Ainu hunter posing with bow stretched towards the prey. Details of the clothes are finely engraved in relief, as well as the expression of the face which is focused on the prey in flight.
Carved and veined rosewood base.

The Ainu are the indigenous East Asian ethnic group of northern Japan, native to the island of Hokkaidō.
