VERY RARE 18/19THC CHINESE BRONZE CLOISONNE ENAMEL CENSER VASE RIDERS w HORSES
a pair of unique and rare Chinese cloisonne enamel gold gilt bronze horses with rider’s censers. The figures are very finely constructed throughout with some very intricate hand-made features. I have not seen another pair like these leading me to believe they are rare finds. The figures came from the estate with an original photograph and receipt from when purchased around 30 years ago, I am told for 5000 dollars. The invoice for import indicates 18th century age. The figures have authentic ormolu gold gilding with superb details to the cloisonne work. The figures have their original matching hats, and scepters.
The figures show minor wear and imperfections consistent with their antique age and could use a cleaning. The figures are overall in substantially fine condition with no losses, missing pieces, or repairs, about as fine of condition as one could hope to find a pair like this in. The figures are amazing examples to display measuring 10 inches long, by 4 1/2 inches wide, and sit 12 1/4 inches tall. I was able to find a similar figural censer that sold at Christies a few years ago as seen. I believe it may be some time before you see another unique pair like this being offered.
