For your consideration, from a Private Estate Collection, Canada, is a superb early Chinese or Tibetan figure of Buddha, emblazoned in a fire gilding over the original heavy copper casting. The patina is superb on this piece. The robe ends are finely incised with a delicate engraving.
Amitayus, also known as the Buddha of boundless life, is largely associated with longevity. He is mostly depicted sitting and holding in his hands a vessel containing the nector of immortality.
